They dropped a dummy, then they cut. Then Zaphod lies down in the same position and they film him standing up. The two cuts are blended together using video editing. The other actors have been comped in. Happy 2020!

I worked on this movie and to my knowledge, there are no versions of it that censor this scene. If this scene was to be censored for political reasons, they'd have to remove the entire 'fight the fascism that is Lord Business' angle too.

Hekateras we see the same thing and come to different conclusions. When the “regulators” aka gov get involved, they create the environment you speak of. Payoffs, red tape to keep competitors down and out. True free markets and capitalism wouldn’t have this issue.
Math fact check: $10 million divided by 9,987,652 would be $1.00124 per plaintiff, not $1.09. Maybe they included court costs?
